Cocoa beans are seeds of cocoa trees that are a source of raw materials for making chocolate. The benefits of cocoa were discovered before the Common Era, and today you could hardly imagine the entire world food industry without it.

Cocoa mass (also known as cocoa liquor) is the stage of cocoa beans processing and the main ingredient for making chocolate. Cocoa mass is made by grinding cocoa beans and thorough roasting, after that cocoa mass is packaged for you in boxes of 25 kg.

Cocoa powder is the result of grinding cocoa cake, which remains during the production of grated cocoa. Cocoa powder is also widely used for making chocolate and other confectionery products, but, most importantly, for all our favorite drinks: cocoa and hot chocolate.

Cocoa butter is another by-product obtained during the production of grated cocoa, in addition to cocoa powder. Cocoa butter is used both in the confectionery industry and in pharmaceuticals and cosmetology. And it is this ingredient that makes chocolate melt in your mouth, not in your hands.

Today cocoa is as valuable an asset as precious metals and currencies. There are special exchanges that determine the current rate of cocoa — there you can always track the current value of the delivery futures for cocoa. In the past 10 years, the price for a ton of cocoa has been ranging between $2,000 and $3,000. As for Panamir products, you can make a request on our website and get all the latest price information.

Cocoa beans grow on cocoa trees (also known as chocolate trees), which are common in the tropics of South America, Africa, Australia and Southeast Asia. Initially, the Amazonian forests were the birthplace of these trees, however, during the era of great geographical discoveries, the seeds of the valuable plant were ferried around the globe — but cocoa cultivation is possible only in tropical forests, because it is in these areas that the climate for cocoa trees is warm and humid to the extent necessary.

We deliver cocoa beans from West and East Africa (Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire) and South America (Brazil and Ecuador) — these countries are the world’s leading producers and exporters of cocoa beans.

The quality of cocoa is determined through sampling (slicing cocoa beans) by a specially trained person according to the international rules of the FCC – Federation of Cocoa Commerce. Such sampling helps to determine the characteristics of cocoa beans (country, size, fermentation, etc.), which gives an idea of their quality in accordance with the established standards.

Cocoa beans have long been used in the production of cocoa drinks (including hot chocolate), chocolate and other confectionery. You can also find cocoa in pharmaceuticals and cosmetology, because it has many useful properties and is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Panamir has its own production facility in Keila, Estonia, with unique technical equipment for processing cocoa beans. It allows us to get the perfect product from raw materials of any grade and quality. The company runs the production of cocoa products in three directions: cleaning, sorting and storing of cocoa beans; grinding and frying; grinding of cocoa nibs for the production of grated cocoa, cocoa butter and cocoa powder. All processes are conducted on the state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly equipment.

Our production does not pollute the environment; we work only with the most trusted suppliers of equipment that care about the environment. In the future, through innovations in the processing of cocoa waste, we plan to partially receive electricity from renewable sources.
